Dana Colthart, LCSW — OCD & Eating Disorder Therapist

Serving Bergen County & New Jersey | ERP Therapy | OCD & ED Specialist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a decade of experience, having begun my graduate school journey in 2016. I specialize in OCD treatment, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Eating Disorder therapy, providing evidence-based, compassionate care for clients in Bergen County and throughout New Jersey. My practice focuses on helping individuals heal, reduce anxiety, challenge compulsions, and build long-term recovery in a safe, supportive environment.

I have extensive training in OCD treatment, including ERP and ACT, with advanced education from NOCD, the Mood & Anxiety Center, and leading experts in anxiety and OCD. To maintain a cutting-edge clinical approach, I participate in bi-weekly supervision with nationally recognized OCD specialists, ensuring that my methods remain current, research-informed, and highly effective.

I also specialize in Eating Disorder treatment, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, orthorexia, and body image concerns. My ED training includes advanced work from the Eating Recovery Center, the IAEDP Foundation, and other leading experts. I am in the final stages of completing my CEDS certification, a rigorous 2-year post-graduate pathway, which when completed in March 2026, will reflect more than 10 years of combined education, training, and clinical experience. I also meet bi-weekly with top ED specialists to ensure my practice remains at the forefront of evidence-based care.

Many clients experience both OCD and an Eating Disorder, or symptoms that overlap, such as rigid food rules, intrusive thoughts about body image, or compulsive exercise and rituals. My integrated approach allows clients to receive specialized treatment for OCD, ED, or both simultaneously, without needing multiple providers.

I am a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD). My practice combines warmth, structure, and evidence-based treatment, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs while emphasizing safety, insight, and long-term growth.

Dana Catarella, LCSW — Gottman-Trained Couples & Individual Therapist

ABOUT DANA

MEET DANA
I am a licensed clinical social worker with nearly four years of experience, specializing in couples therapy, LGBTQ+ clients, and individuals navigating identity, self-esteem, life transitions, or perfectionism challenges. I am Gottman Method-trained and use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples understand their relationship patterns, identify attachment wounds, and improve emotional connection. The Gottman Method is a research-based approach that helps couples strengthen communication, manage conflict effectively, rebuild trust, and increase intimacy. Through structured exercises and guided conversations, couples learn practical skills to navigate challenges, break negative cycles, and foster a more resilient, supportive partnership.

For individuals, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as trauma-focused CBT, trauma-informed care, CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, positive psychology, client-centered therapy, and psychodynamic techniques. I believe that often the way we think about our problems—our thought patterns—can drive emotions more than the events themselves. By increasing self-awareness, clients can gain control, reduce distress, and move toward healing, self-acceptance, and lasting growth.

I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation for those unsure if therapy is the right fit, providing a welcoming first step toward support and positive change.
